Garnet Thread starts with a direct invitation between two iPhones, then keeps both people inside the same shared space.

The timeline keeps the newest shared moments close while making room for reactions, messages, links between photos, and older memories. This preview uses sample content; personal photos are never used as marketing assets.
What “encrypted” means here.
The sending iPhone encrypts protected media and content before upload. The service coordinates delivery and stores ciphertext, key envelopes, and necessary metadata; it does not receive the device private keys or plaintext media needed to turn that ciphertext back into your photos and videos.
The precise boundary matters. Garnet Thread does not claim that the service sees nothing. It must handle operational information such as device and place identifiers, channel membership, timestamps, file sizes, and delivery state. The privacy claim is narrower and testable: protected media and message content leave the iPhone encrypted, and the service does not hold the private device keys used to decrypt them.
